There's nothing stopping a candidate from doing this, but I've never done this before myself. Just because I happened to be "good enough" last time doesn't mean that the criteria or the competition for the position have remained the same. I know I certainly haven't - I'm constantly leveling up and improving my skills at work, which means that a new design test often allows me a new opportunity to improve on my old design ideas or come up with an alternative/new solution that fits the test/theme better.

Resubmitting old designs that may not be my best work today feels like an unforced error on my part. I want to make any job search submission the absolute best showcase of my skills that I can. I only get one chance per application and I can only submit to a company once every 6-12 months so I want to maximize my chances at a good response.
