It really sucks when something you're putting a lot of yourself into gets spoiled early and without full context. It feels a lot like the public then starts judging your work so harshly and that often feels like they're judging you by association. [I've been there]. I get it.

The only thing you can really do is step back, take a deep breath, and get some distance. This isn't something that's your fault. This isn't something that you did. It is an unfortunate situation outside of your control that happened, and you should not feel any responsibility for it. Instead, it is a tragedy that happened and that we need to deal with. As such, we roll up our sleeves and continue the work. It isn't ideal but shit happens and we must play the hand we're dealt as best we can. Wishing we had better cards nets us nothing. Continue to do the best you can, maybe take a break if you need one and look after your own health - both mental and physical. You'll get through this, I promise.
